Companion Goldens of the Carolinas

PUPPY CONTRACT

Deposit and payment:

Buyer will pay Companion Goldens of the Carolinas a total of $2,000-$3,000 for a puppy. A non refundable deposit of $500 due once the litter is confirmed. If in the event the mom of the requested litter does not produce enough of your desired gender, your deposit will be moved to a future litter. The remainder of the $2,000-$3,000 balance will be due at pick up. In the event that the buyer is unable to pick up the puppy on the agreed upon date, the buyer must pay the balance via Cash, Venmo or Zelle on the arranged date. Failure to pick up the puppy by the arranged pick up date or failure to have the puppy paid in full by 8 weeks old, will mean forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit and any rights the buyer had to the selected puppy. 

Boarding:

If the buyer is unable to pick up the puppy by the weekend of 8 weeks of age, the seller will hold the puppy for up to 10 days after turning 8 weeks and then the buyer agrees to pay a fee of $10 per day for boarding after the extra 10 days for care, and food for their selected puppy. The buyer agrees to pay all vet bills aquired after 8 weeks of age including but not limited to vaccinations, checkups, medications, exams, and surgeries. 

Travel and delivery:

If the buyer is in need of having the breeder deliver their selected puppy to them, they agree to pay the fee associated with this service for their costs and time. Fee for the delivery of your puppy to the agreed upon date, time, and location:_____

Health guarantee: All of our breeding dogs have been health tested and tested for any genetic disorders. Your selected puppy has been cleared by our licensed veterinarian. Therefore, the seller guarantees that at the time of transfer, your selected puppy is healthy and current on all veterinarian recommended vaccines and deworming. Buyer agrees to arrange a veterinarian of their choice to give the puppy a health check within 72 hours of transfer of ownership. If this is not completed within the time frame, the terms of this contract will be voided. In the event the 72 hours falls on a holiday or weekend, the time period will continue the next business day. If the licensed veterinarian finds the puppy to have an untreatable and life threatening condition, the puppy must be returned alive and in well condition (other than the stated problem) with AKC papers within the guaranteed time period at no expense to the seller. The puppy must test negative for parvoviruses before it is returned. The buyer must provide a letter from the examining veterinarian as evidence of the puppy's illness. Seller is not responsible for any veterinarian costs incurred by the buyer. The buyer may exchange the puppy for another of equal value within a year or when available. Payment is non refundable. Any condition or physical problem caused by injury or diet is not covered in this contract. This guarantee does not include coccidia, giardia, internal parasites, ear mites, fleas, or any other common puppy ailments which can be easily treated. This guarantee only covers life threatening congenital defect. It is also understood that there is no guarantee regarding size, coloring, ability to perform certain tasks, weight, and fertility for breeders.

We highly encourage and recommend you to get health insurance on your dog. Many unexpected things like getting hurt, cancer, other unforeseen health issues can arise and be very costly. Please speak with your vet with which one they would recommend for you and your dog. 

Spay/Neuter

The buyer agrees to spay/neuter their selected puppy but NOT until at least 18-24 months old when joints are fully formed. However, waiting until the full 2 years old is optimal and prefered for this breed. Failure to spay a non-breeding female can result in Pyometra, which can lead to cancer. Buyer understands that unless the seller has approved them as breeder and granted them breeding rights, the selected puppy is to not be bred. 

Return/Sell puppy

If for any reason at all the buyer decides they can no longer care for the puppy/adult dog any longer, the seller must be notified so they can assist in finding an appropriate home for the puppy/adult dog. We believe strongly in our goal to never have any of our dogs end up in an unfit home, shelter, puppy mill, or on the streets. The seller has agreed to sell this puppy to the signer of this contract, no other owner of this dog may be chosen without the agreement of the seller first.
